Today, he expects a lot besides the work output. While considering this aspect, the employers of all hues belonging to the different categories are covered. And, under the present competitive and highly commercial conditions, a very road based view is taken on this aspect because a simple consideration of the work output is not sufficient and workable. Thus there are many aspects some attributive, some qualitative and some psychological which are responsible for resulting and ensuring, an optimum productivity of fairly high quality and give you solid foothold and edge in the competitive market.. And at the same time, it enables an employer to achieve his employee’s commitment and involvement in the organization. Let us take a look at those aspects which an employer of the present day expects from his employees.
Role of HR – Professional in short-listing the right candidate
Most of HR Professional limits their responsibilities in participating interview process by asking questions during interview like
- What is your father?
- Tell me something about you?
- Why are you looking for change? ----- I am not telling that above mentioned questions are not relevant. But as a HR Strategic professionals, They are catalysts for exploring the following most relevant skills for the organization success
Application Skill ---- A Candidate should be Capable to analyse an information / Information and apply to the job properly and correctly. He should also take an appropriate action for doing his job qualitatively and successfully. He should think and analyze and apply independently and seek proper advice whenever in doubt or warranted.
Maturity ---- He should demonstrate his mature outlook, approach and thoughts in work, behavior, conduct and relationship.
Appropriate Technical Skill ----He should have the basic adequate professional training and skill to do the job. He should also demonstrate his ability to day any type of job and willingness to do additional training for updating as and when required
Learning ----He should be keen to learn new techniques, skills, procedures and methods. So, he should learn and avail training facilities whenever offered. He should read and seek guidance from knowledgeable and experienced workers.
Positive Personality ----A person with positive personality has good behavioral, characteristics, positive attitude, mindset and outlook. He shows confidence and cheerfulness while doing the job and tendency to get over the difficulties and problems. He is adaptable to any environment.
Focus ----He should focus on his career as well as the employer’s interest and welfare of the organization as a whole
Self-Discipline ----He should follow self discipline, rules and regulations, avoid trade union activities and remain away from the organizational politics.
Cost and Quality Consciousness ----He should use the resources, materials and manpower at his disposal in the most economic manner. He should also be resourceful to manage the job under difficult condition without sacrificing quality.
Leadership ----He should demonstrate his leadership qualities in taking initiative in influencing and inspiring others. He should have team spirit and drive others to work in cooperation and coordination for the employer’s interest.
work ethics ----He should work hard, be punctual to attend the work, be polite and gentle, listen to his seniors and respect his colleagues, fellow workers and senior officials
Loyalty and integrity ---- He should remain loyal to the employer and to the company’s interest. He should not pass any information about the company to an outsider and never let down his employer under any circumstances
