Bluetooth Technology

HR Articles - What is ?

The idea that resulted in the Bluetooth was born in 1994. Ericsson Mobile Communication initiated a study to investigate the feasibility of a low power, low cost radio interface between mobile phones and their accessories.

In Feb 1998, five companies, Ericsson, Nokia, IBM, Toshiba and Intel formed a special Interest Group . The BlueTooth technology eliminates the need for numerous, often proprietary, cable devices. Connections are instant and they are maintained even when devices are not within the line of sight. The range of each radio is approximately 10m, but it can be extended to around 100m with an optional amplifier.

The BlueTooth technology is also conquering the world, becoming the fastest growing industry standard ever. Since the formation of BlueTooth SIG, 131 companies have signed the BlueTooth adopter agreements and joined the BlueTooth SIG. Among them are world leaders in the telecom and computing industries.

The BlueTooth is speeding towards the future its uses are unlimited; home equipment, automotive components and entertainment devices.
